Freeware of the day...... Day 23

Today's freeware bee around for a while and is almost constantly being updated. It will help you get where you need to ago, for cities worldwide (including 6 Canadian cities). I'm talking about MetrO.

MetrO is quite possibly the most useful Palm program for travelers. MetrO gives you public transportation schedules (schedules for the bus transit, subway, etc.) and calculates the fastest routes for you to take. You can even get routes to tourist attractions. This Program is great is you travel a lot, due to the fact that it currently gives you schedules for over 300 cities worldwide, including Calgary, Edmonton, Montreal, Ottawa, Toronto, and Vancouver. And boy does this program come in many flavours. You can get MetrO in 39 different languages! The user interface is a little complicated at first, but after a bit of time you realize that everything there has a specific purpose.

The actual program is relatively small, only about 60kb, it's the city databases that take up all the space. However, fortunately enough, the city databases can be stored in the /PALM/Programs/metro/ folder on your expansion card.

I won't go too in depth into this program since the least of features and functions just goes on and on. Overall, if your city is supported, I definately recommend you download or at least check out MetrO
