Today's freeware is favourite of mine that I use quite frequently. It allows you to control your PC from the palm of your hand. I'm taking about PalmVNC 2.0.
First off, let me get one this straight, I'll be talking about PalmVNC 2.0 by Olivier Gerardin, not the old classic PalmVNC by Harakan Software. PalmVNC 2.0 is up-to-date and works on all of the current Palm models, however you'll need conectivity on you Palm handheld for this program to work. It's recommended that you have at wi-fi connection for optimum speed and performance, but if you don't mind a bit of lag every once in a while, bluetooth works too. The set-up for PalmVNC is fairly simple, given that PalmVNC 2.0's website has detailed instructions on setting up the PC component. And one the PC component is up and running, part 2 of setup begins. After installing the program to you Palm, there is not much left to do, just put in you computer's IP address, configure the hard buttons etc.. Now you're ready to go. Hit the connect button and your Palm is now able to control your computer. Your computer's desktop is displayed and there are scrollbars on the right and bottom on your Palm's screen. You can change zooms, and even zoom out to show the entire desktop. And when you tap your screen it's moves the mouse's pointer to wherever you've tapped. For text entry, the regular graffiti method of text-entry works.
The only downfall in PalmVNC 2.0, for me anyway, is that PalmVNC 2.0 converts your desktop to 256 colours, which, in many instances, causes graphics to be displayed somewhat distorted.
Overall, a very good, application, and for free, who can say no. For more info and to download it, check it out here
