Canuck PDA's First Podcast!

That's right! Canuck PDA now has its very own podcast! Simply click on the link and you'll begin downloading the mp3. Or, if you like to listen to podcasts via an RSS reader, there's also a podcast RSS feed available. I know it's not the best podcast out there (and yes I will be getting a new microphone), but I think it's good for our first one. In our first podcast, we discuss the current events of the Palm world, as well as talk about some great software, and Chris' new Tungsten T|E2. Show notes can be found here

Oh, and once again, thanks go out to Molson Canada for allowing us to use their "I Am" anthem in our podcast.

PalmOne Tungsten|E2 Review

I have been using a Palm Tungsten|E for about 10 months now, and the only problem I have had so far was when my power button broke. Since I had purchased a three year extended warranty for it, I took the handheld back to the store where I bought it and asked if I could have it repaired. Apparently my T|E was still technically under a Palm warranty for two more months, and they said I should call Palm, but I explained that my results in the past with their customer support has been at best average and at the very least a painful experience.

I had initially hoped for an over the counter exchange, but due to a 30 day restriction that was no longer possible. The customer service representative suggested I purchase a replacement handheld to use while my T|E was sent away to be repaired, and after I get my old handheld back I could simply return the new one I purchase before the first 30 days and get a full refund. They would even extend my original devices warranty by 30 days, just to be nice. This sounded like a great solution to my problem, so I purchased a new PalmOne Tungsten|E2 and ended up asking them to handle the return and repair procedure for my T|E, which they were thankfully obligatory to do. I paid $299.99 CDN plus tax, and did not purchase an extended warranty for obvious reasons.

Another TX enhancement by Dmitry

First he added a microphone. Then he added vibration. After that he removed the brightness limit. Now Dmitry's done it again! He's created a new program for the Palm TX, FrameTX. FrameTX works on the TX and the LifeDrive and removes the 2 pixel white border around the screen!
