Freeware of the day...... Day 21

Today's freeware was made for the old Palm handhelds with connectivity, but still works great to this day. I'm talking about AgileMessenger

AgileMessenger is fairly old, and on the new Palm handhelds, it's starting to show its age. Unfortunately, Agile messenger is all low-resolution and doesn't support a DIA. In addition, any attempt to use the built-in sounds causes a soft-reset on my Zire 72, and there isn't an background mode, which is what keeps this from being up-to-par with the current commercial solutions. Lastly, AgileMessenger automatically disconnects you on exit, which I don't find too impressive.

But it's not all bad for AgileMessenger. You are still able to connect to Yahoo, MSN, AOL, and ICQ, all at the same time! The actual messaging inteface is fairly well designed; you can rename contacts, remove contacts, message contacts and get info about each contact. I find that AgileMessenger does seem to disconnect and reconnect on an unusually frequent basis. One useful feature, especially for those of you with smartphones, is AgileMessenger's Traffic Counter which tallies up the amount of data sent and recieved. Overall, a good freeware, but a little unstable on the current line of Palm OS PDAs.
